Warranty

Every lure we make is covered against manufacturing defects for twelve months from the day it is delivered. Here is what that covers, what it does not, and how to claim.

Last updated September 2026

What it covers

A defect in the way the lure was made, present when it left us, that shows up within twelve months of delivery. In practice that means:

  • Paint or clear coat that lifts, bubbles or peels without an impact having caused it.
  • A hook hanger, line tie or split ring that fails under normal use.
  • A bill that separates from the body.
  • A hard bait that will not run straight from new and cannot be tuned by a small adjustment of the line tie.
  • A jointed swimbait whose hinge fails.
  • A spinnerbait whose wire breaks at a bend, or whose swivel seizes from new.
  • Soft plastics that are torn, misformed or fused in the pack when opened.

What it does not cover

Fishing is hard on lures, and most of what happens to them is not a defect.

  • Damage from fish: tooth marks, torn skirts, bent hooks, cracked bodies from a big fish.
  • Damage from snags, rocks, docks, boat hulls or being trodden on.
  • Rust on hooks or split rings from being put away wet or stored in a closed box. See the hooks guide.
  • Hooks, split rings or blades you have changed yourself, and any change in how the lure runs as a result.
  • A lure that has been repainted, drilled, weighted or otherwise modified.
  • Fading from long exposure to sunlight.
  • Loss of the lure, for any reason.

How to claim

  1. Reply to your original order email, or write to admin@hookefamily.com with the date of your order if you no longer have the thread.
  2. Attach a photograph that shows the problem clearly, and a sentence or two about what happened.
  3. We reply within one business day. If it is a defect, we send a replacement at our cost. We may ask you to return the faulty lure and, if we do, we cover the postage.

If the same lure is no longer made, we replace it with the nearest equivalent or refund the price you paid, as described in the refund policy.

Duration

Twelve months from the date of delivery of the original order. A replacement sent under warranty is covered for the remainder of the original period, not for a new twelve months.

Your statutory rights

This warranty is in addition to the rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in, and does not reduce them.
